North Slave Research Centre
The Aurora Research Institute (ARI) is located at the North Slave Campus of Aurora College in Yellowknife. The ARI is the regional office for Yellowknife and surrounding communities north of Great Slave Lake. The ARI carries out contractual research and conduct research as requested by the community and support researchers connecting with community organizations and government departments. The NSRC is home to ARI’s research experts in health and social sciences.

Research History
The North Slave Research Centre is part of the Aurora Research Institute (ARI). The Institute has roots dating back to 1964, when a research centre in Inuvik was developed to provide support for scientific research in the NWT and Northern Yukon. In 1995, ARI merged with Aurora College and expanded their offices to include the North Slave Research Centre in Yellowknife and the South Slave Research Centre in Fort Smith.
